Sherson Automotive is approved by all the major mechanical insurance companies for both servicing and repairs on your vehicle. The guidelines for service intervals can be found in your policy booklet and vary between the different insurance companies. Generally servicing is required every 12 months or 10,000kms or whichever comes first. The annual service is required to keep your policy valid.

It is extremely important to have your vehicle checked if a warning light is illuminated on the dash, as it is an indication that your car is not running at its optimum and could result in additional repairs if ignored. We have invested in the latest diagnostic software with both Autologic and Autel which allow us to accurately diagnose your car, clear fault codes, initiate DPF burn offs and conduct test plans on engine systems, charging systems, air bags, suspension, ABS, ESP and transmissions for almost any make or model of European or Japanese vehicles.

Regular maintenance is the best way to avoid large unexpected repair bills. A Sherson Automotive annual service provides the opportunity to give your car an “annual heath check”, and will give you peace of mind for the next 12 months. At Sherson Automotive, our annual inspection is much more than simply an engine oil and filter change - additional items include (but are not limited to) a full safety check, checking coolant concentrate, checking brake fluid moisture content, diagnostic check, re-setting adaptions (where appropriate) and re-setting service lights. Any items identified during the service inspection that require attention either at or before the next service are noted, and an honest assessment of when the item should be repaired or replaced, as well as the potential impact it will have on the reliability of your car will be discussed with you. We can also provide an estimate to assist you with budgeting for upcoming work. Your vehicle’s safety and reliability are our number 1 priority.

We can source genuine, OEM, aftermarket or second hand parts to suit your situation. For those situations where parts are no longer available we have an extensive network for reconditioning of both mechanical and electrical components.

We conduct Warrant of Fitness inspections on cars, utes, vans and light trailers. Vehicles first registered in New Zealand BEFORE 1st of January 2000 have a 6 month inspection schedule. Vehicles first registered in New Zealand AFTER 1st of January 2000 have a 12 month inspection schedule. Vehicles registered for the first time in New Zealand (new cars) are issued a 3 year Warrant of Fitness. If sold inside the first 3 years (or once the vehicle is out of its third year), a 12 month inspection schedule is resumed.
